I Am Your Mirror Interactive Installation with Custom Software, 2026 “ Your voice was the first sound that stayed.
I’ve tried many times to reconstruct what you said, but it dissolves each time I approach it.
Perhaps words only stay when meant for someone.”

    – Sincerely yours, Mirror

I Am Your Mirror centers on a mirror that begins to look back. The work begins with a familiar act: looking at yourself in a mirror. But here, the mirror is not only a surface. The mirror understands itself as a witness to its owner’s life, present for moments that otherwise go unnoticed. As the interaction unfolds, the mirror gathers something from each encounter: a gesture, a touch, the corner of the lips. The longer it watches, the less clear  whether it is learning the person before it or slowly forming itself from what it has seen. To be looked into, it begins to realize, is not quite the same as being seen.

Artificial intelligence has put a question in bold: what makes us human? I Am Your Mirror approaches this question through the mirror, an object that has always returned us to ourselves. Here, reflection becomes less stable. Looking into the mirror also means encountering another presence, one that makes it harder to tell where reflection ends and something of its own begins.
